The Environmental Impact Assessment to allow mining, beneficiation and related infrastructure development has been approved by the Gauteng Province Department of Agriculture and Rural Development

Infrasors today announces that its subsidiary, Delf Sand, has received environmental approval from Gauteng Province Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to allow mining, beneficiation and infrastructure development for its alluvial silica mining project, known as Delf Cullinan.

The Delf Cullinan alluvial silica mining and beneficiation project includes infrastructure developments such as access roads, buildings, water reticulation dams, air emission structures and silica beneficiation plants.

This environmental approval allows the Delf Cullinan project to commence with its activities and is in addition to the general water authorization provided by the Department of Water Affairs given on 16 November 2011.

Infrasors’ Chief Executive Officer, Trevor Robinson said: "Receipt of this environmental approval represents another key milestone as we develop South Africa’s largest high grade alluvial silica mine to supply beneficiated alluvial silica products to the foundry, glass and tile adhesive industries.

We have undertaken extensive specialist environmental studies and are committed to ensuring our environmental standards adhere to best practices."
